Hello, all you devoted Team Elizabeth friends and fans! There’s a great opportunity, just a little less than two weeks away, to help kick off this fifth year of Team Elizabeth cycling in the Pan-Mass Challenge ride to raise funds for the Elizabeth Alling Sewall Endowment for breast cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Bringing new energy to the team’s efforts, Elizabeth’s elder son Scott has inherited captain duties from his dad, Gordon, who was all too happy to pass the mantle to the next generation. Team Matriarch Cynthia Alling, Elizabeth’s mother, noted last year that Scott’s recruitment efforts in 2016 had infused the team with the energy of “young guns,” as she dubbed them, and more than doubled the team’s size from previous years. The 2017 team is shaping up to be even more formidable.

This year’s ride will take place the weekend of August 5th in Boston. If you’d like to donate to the 2017 ride, but cannot attend the fundraiser, please visit the team’s PMC page at the link below. As always, any and all donations, no matter the size, are deeply appreciated.

Team Elizabeth closed the 2016 fundraising and cycling season with a total of $460,000 in the EAS Endowment and is well poised to surpass the half a million dollar mark this year. Every single dollar raised by the team goes directly to the endowment, which supports research at Dana-Farber to develop new therapies to treat invasive lobular carcinoma, the aggressive form of breast cancer from which Elizabeth died.

“There is no limit to love”— Elizabeth Alling Sewall, 1964-2012
